Nonprofit Organization Registration

The Environmental and Chemical Safety Educational Institute is a nonprofit organization registered with the Secretary of State in North Carolina (ID # 875392).

The Institute is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes that involve educating and training chemists and scientists in developing countries in order to improve their ability to help protect our environment from hazardous chemicals - safely and efficiently.

The objectives of ECSEI are:

1. To implement workshops and training courses for college students and government and industrial scientists in environmental chemistry and laboratory chemical safety in Vietnam and other developing countries using prominent scientists from the United States and other developed countries.

2. To sponsor exchange visits of college students and government and industrial scientists in developing countries to educational institutions and corporate laboratories in the USA, and other developed countries, in order to enhance their training in environmental chemistry and laboratory chemical safety.

To achieve the Institute's objectives and carry out its mission, funding is sought from national and international organizations and private companies willing to help advance scientific education for laboratory chemical safety and environmental monitoring. These funds are used to provide training and workshops in developing countries and also to sponsor visits of scientists from developing countries to educational institutions and government and private laboratories in the USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, and other developed countries.

Overhead costs are minimized by using contributed office space and part time employees who take no employee benefits (i.e., there are no medical, insurance, or vacation overhead costs). This enables a maximum amount of contributed funds to be directly used for implementing the Institute's objectives.
